All's Swell

Sorry for the worry,
and thank you for the tons of e-mails
from around the world wishing me well.

It was a bad injury,
but it's fine now,
and it was not work related nor
car accident related.

When I grew up,
alternative medicine was frowned upon.
(as well as secular music and tv and film).
I thought chiroprators killed peole
and anything weirder than that was like
crazy voodoo stuff.
Just your friendly neighborhood G.P doctor
and alot of prayer and Dr. Pepper and grits
and sweet tea would cure anything.

I'm always praying,
but haven't been to see my G.P,
have been low on Dr. Pepper and grits
and sweet tea lately,
and ended up with the
second most painful injury of my life.

Interesting, because in my past I have
never been injured being
a competitive swimmer,
soccer player and gymnast,
a drug user,
(FOR A WHILE... AND I QUIT,
DON'T DO DRUGS THEY ARE STUPID)
a dancer, have done stunts,
an evangelical christian,
in rock bands, on tour,
and an actor,
but neither my most hurtful injury
(falling down the stairs with my
amputee friend John,
long story, more later)
or this one had anything to do with anything,
and I am never sick and never injured.

Anyways, I had a little muscle tear in my back,
but as one who is
never sick or injured,
I ignored it.
Then something else happened and it
amplified it into my shoulder and neck
on the right side.
My shoulder seized up and was stuck to
my face, lost feeling in my arm
from elbow to hand, could not move
my head and began serious and very
painful muscle spasms in
shooting down my arm and back.
I'm like " I'M FINE!!!" because I come from
strong stock,
but the fact that I was immobilized and
screaming in pain alerted my friend Bryan
who is an athlete, a competitive figure skater.
He gave me the number of a sports
medicine and "integrated medicine center"
and I promised I would call them if I didn't feel
better the next day.
Bryan promised me that I wouldn't
feel better the next day,
he knows tthis stuff.
The next morning,
my boyfriend was rushing me to this place
Bryan recommended, where I was like
"JUST AMPUTATE! TAKE THE MUSCLE OUT!
I DON'T CARE" because I was in such bad pain.

In the course of an hour,
I had (for the FIRST time)
full chiropractic cracking, muscle massages,
electrodes, and about 15 needle acupunture
in my back and neck...
and it was awesome.
I had regained about 70% of my movement
about a half hour after I left.
I don't like pills, no pain killers for me,
I was left to suffer...
but this is so great
I know I am like 3000 years late or something...
but people...
ACUPUNCTURE IS AMAZING
AND TOTALLY WORKS
AND I TOTALLY GET IT NOW !!!
I went three more times,
Michael had to drive me back and forth,
lots and lots of needles and
it was amazing
and I am fine now.

God, Thank You For My Acupunturist,
a cutie pie Chinese Guy Named Moses.
