I just absolutely could not like
this guy any more than I do.

I Get By...

Sometimes it just takes
allowing a little bit of love.
And some fun.

After thinking too much for a while
about really bad things
and really bad people,
I had a couple of days that reminded me
that other things
are way more important.

Like having so many good people
come over, send LONG e-mails,
and hug me, love me, call me.
My friends are awesome.
I would quote that Beatles' song,
"I get by ..."
but I'm not a big Beatles fan.
I prefer Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush's
"Don't Give Up", (DOWNLOAD!)
but it's the same sentiment.

And like,
having an absolute blast
seeing Def Leppard and Journey play
with my friends Matthew, Samantha and Taime
the other night.
We had so much ridiculous fun
and so much love all around.
The show, and then hanging out with
a bunch of neighbors,
it was a perfect evening.

And like,
today,
me my boyfriend and friends
walked in the AIDS WALK LA.
There are not words to describe...
but...
So many amazing people,
(over 30 THOUSAND!)
loving and supporting each other,
beautiful faces of every race
and gender...
Amazing.

Ummm...
The clock stopped...
2:21 AM.
I was just writing this wonderful missive,
and heard an absolutely horrible,
deafening car accident,
while I was writing,
For Real.
I called 911, ran out of my house
in my pajamas and then held a
very bloody guy on the sidewalk
because he was in shock
and there were no blankets or anything.
His legs were broken,
and he was sweet and scared.
His name is Alphonso.
If you pray,
please pray for him right now.
I have his blood on my shirt
and glass in my socks.
God bless the firefighters
and EMTs who came.
I hope he is OK.
I'm praying, Alphonso.

Rubber Glue

I had such an amazing revelation tonight.
And it is SO simple.
So very simple.
If people say cruel things to you,
or about you,
or if they tell lies about you,
it says nothing about you,
it has nothing to do with you.
It only reveals THEIR nature.
Liars.
Cruel people.
And all the junk motivation
that comes along with that:
jealousy, insecurity, boredom...
Their statements show that they are
liars, cruel, jealous, insecure, bored.
But they say nothing
about the person they are attacking,
it only makes them look pathetic and small.
It's only about their character,
not yours.

Truth

Those things that you know,
that you really know
that you were there for
that you lived through
even if you have been manipulated by a master
even if you were sad, or weak or confused
The truth
lives in your heart and soul
and exists
whether you change your story or not.
Be careful.
God knows the truth.
Above your fears
And your new found peers
Your jealousy
and your rivalry
The truth is in you
you were there
you lived it.
No promise or lie
from forked tongue
can change the truth
if you stop and remember.
And if you deny it
because of your own
insecurities and venom,
amongst others,
I believe,
God will judge that.
And you are denying yourself.

Underneath the things whispered in your ear
and your own childhood fear
and your own newfound peer,
there is truth
that is something you know
bigger than the snow job
think
feel...
bitterness
and jealousy
and the venom of sweet talking liar
can make you lie with pride,
but not cry with pride
and you will be sad,
someday,
for becoming a liar
that you weren't one time.
The truth will never change
No matter what you say
because it happened,
and you were there.
And you used to care
about honesty.

Tupperware Care

So, I just got my box of awesome Tupperware.
Yup, that's right.
There is this great animal rescue place in
Louisiana, who got alot of Katrina babies, called

(but they have cats, dogs, etc!)
They are saving and caring for so many animals.
Right now, you can go buy some awesome Tupperware

I was sitting with my dogs
on a pretty fall feeling day
in the grass
and a giant black crow came and sat
on a limb in front of us.
He was SO beautiful.
He was HUGE
and shiny, shiny black,
with an impressive wing span.
He sat on the branch in front of me
and talked and talked and talked.
I think he had a story to tell.
I think he was venting.
I thing he had something to get off
his beautiful shiny, black chest.
My dogs never barked at him,
they stared too.
Perhaps they understood.
I was mesmerized...
and I REALLY wish I spoke bird!
