ADULT MOVIE

(note: this is an old entry from my old blog.
I would like to publish all the old ones,
but don't know how,
so when there's one I keep thinking about,
like this one,
I'll try and post it)

ADULT MOVIE

Last night I had a box of fig newtons,
some peanut M&Ms and a beer for dinner.
Why?
Because I can.
Because I'm an adult.
I can put my dogs on the furniture,
wear dirty socks,
slide down the stairs,
sleep all day,
play loud music,
wear anything,
put my feet on the table,
dye my hair any color,
stay up all night,
write stuff on my arm,
read or watch what ever I want,
drive myself around,
not take a bath...
That rules!

I hate ads
that are always pushing the notion
that it's so awful to grow up.
That's just to sell stuff
like wrinkle cream and dumb sports cars.
I wouldn't be a teenager again
if there was a pill and it was free.
Yuck, yuck, yuck.

But they have to make you fear something
so you'll be inspired to buy stuff.
So why not make you
fear something that's inevitable?
Every year, if you survive, you're gonna get older.
Make it scary,
make it sad,
make people buy into becoming anti-aging warriors
at a hefty price.
They aren't going to sell much
if they remind you about the curfews,
awkwardness,
fear and disempowerment
that comes along with being young.

It's a beautiful, sunny day outside.
And to celebrate,
I'm going to crawl in bed with my cat
while the radio is blasting
in dirty socks for the rest of the day,
then stay up late,
and I might make pancakes at midnight
with extra butter and syrup
and drink a beer.
Why?
Because I can,
Becuase I Am An Adult.

J.T.

So, I have this friend,
J.T.
I love him so much.
Not only is he adorable and talented,
but I have known him since we were kids.
When we were little,
his dad was my preacher
and my dad was an Elder
at a little church in Georgia
during the long, hard awkward ages.

We are adults now.
I since moved to NY and LA
and JT moved to
San Francisco and Florida and Michigan
and I can NOT keep track
of where he is all the time.

But I love him and we always keep in touch.
J.T. is a fantastic artist in many mediums
and always sends me art work.
I am so grateful for my continued relationship with him
after all these years.
He is a beautiful person.
One of my very favorites.

He recently sent me his version
of the picture of Michael and Little Joe.
I LOVE it so much,
I want to share.

Cheers!
Shit, it's a GIF,
you have to click I think,
but it's GREAT!

IF YOU ARE READING THIS...

If you are reading this,
you are an internet user.
If you use the internet,
there is something
VERY SCARY
lurking around congress right now.

Major companies are trying to get
a law passed that will give corporate
interests the deciding factor on
what is and what is not allowed
for you on the internet,
based on how much a company can pay.

This is not a partisan issue,
as all internet users are equally at risk here.
Whatever your beliefs, interests, jokes,
lawnmowers, guns, bibles, movies,
books, medications, loves, hates, snacks,
pets, friends, religions, t-shirts, stickers,
musical tastes or hobbies are...
They are being threatened.

Internet usage and availability
will be determined by
how much a company can pay,
not by our own personal interests.
Forget about that favorite
news site or non-profit site or catalogue or
funny story site or fan site that you
visit or have bookmarked,
you may not be able to access it
if this passes,
basically making the internet a
pay to play,
pay to pray,
pay to say,
pay to foray,
playground for rich corporations.

Think it isn't possible?
Well, it's happening right now.

The internet's First Amendment
is called "Net Neutrality",
which means you are allowed to pick
whatever web site you want to visit.
That is absolutely being threatened right now.
Democrats, Republicans,
Independents and Indifferent are
all trying to make sure that we
maintain the right to visit or not visit
whatever websites we want to.

Please visit:

to read more about this.

Thanks,

nobody,
which hopefully will stay that way.

MAMMA

Mother's day...
Tough One.
I miss her everyday.
Every
Day.

Yesterday,
I was in a car for a long time
with a lovely guy named Pedro
who just lost his mom in February.
I told him how long it takes to feel normal.
I told him you never stop missing them.
I told him she's with him all the time now.
He says he cries alot,
I told him I still do.
I still pick up the phone to call her.
I still want to tell her funny stories.
And it has been a few years now.

She would have LOVED my boyfriend
SO much,
He is everything
a mom would want for their daughter,
kind and loving and a good, good man.
She would have loved to see me
So In Love.
She never met my dogs
or my cat.
and she would have loved to see me
So In Love.

I am glad she was not here for
all the personal pain I suffered through
in the last two years.
Mean, awful people
and hateful lies told
about me.
It would have broken her heart.
It broke mine,
But better mine than hers.

My sister is an AWESOME mom,
and that is so fun to watch.
She had the same mom I did.
I have women who I look up to
and love
like my Aunt Vicky, my Dad's wife Diane,
my best friend's mom Audrey,
my boyfriend's mom Cathy,
and a slew of other
women I am so lucky to know
that can mother me well,
if I need it.
I am so grateful for that.

You always feel a little lost,
however,
when your mom dies.
But I know how lucky I was
to know her.
She was beautiful
and sweet
and smart
and funny.
And she loved me,
SO MUCH.

Happy Mother's Day to
Donna Bell,
My Mom,
In Heaven.

SO BUSY !!! (and a photo)

Sorry So Busy!
It has been so crazy of late,
I haven't had time to write myself,
or you guys,
or anyone.
Every e-mail and voicemail I get says,
"WHERE ARE YOU ???!!!???".
We are SO busy,
Happy,
but
Busy.

I'm here,
I'm slammed.
Good Slammed,
but slammed all the same.

Anyways,
here's my fave pic of late,
Little Joe and Boyfriend.
(and boyfriend wearing his fave
old Detroit shirt, he's from Detroit)
Uhhh!!!
So Cute !!!
Two of the the 27 things I love the most,
and they are two of the Very Most.
(For all of you that write and ask
boyfriend's name,
because I always call him "boyfriend",
it's MICHAEL)

Little Joe LOVES Michael.
Michael and Joe have something in common,
they both love LOVE,
and they both love PLAY.
Joe follows him around everywhere and
if Michael leaves, Joe sits at the door
waiting for him.
Joe sleeps on him, sits on him,
plays with him and cuddles with him.
Michael talks to, pets, kisses
and runs him around everywhere
(they both love to run, run, run).
I'm like "What'd you say?",
and he's like,
"Nothing, I was talking to the dog...".
They all follow him around.
The funniest thing is when Michael
is trying to work on the computer
on the couch
and he has two dogs and a huge cat and a laptop
all on his lap at the same time,
and he can still do his work.
They sit on his computer,
like in this picture.
It's just amazing.
We call it "Michael's Animal Kingdom".

It's the cutest thing ever.

Cheers!
